Approximately two years ago, I did a Yahoo search on "Wacky Packages" and came up with this website. In 1973-74, I was a huge Wacky Packages fan. I started collecting them during the 2nd series in the summer of '73. I backed off during this series when my dad got irritated with me for spending $.45 for nine packs. When I was able to go to the Ben Franklin store near my grandmother's house, series 4 was released and I started buying them again. Soon, I covered an old dresser with stickers. Nearly 10 years later, my mother had to strip them off when she refinished it to give to my older brother. From series four on, I bought them whenever I could. I read the "Top 10 Reasons" page and you're right; people will save most of these things. Wackys were being purchased by pre-adolescents who didn't have the perspective to save anything. Lastly, keep the site up to date because it's something that I like to come back to as a release.

Great website-I had hundreds of the first few series stickers from 1973 when they first appeared. I was in the 4th grade in Watertown,NY at the time. I wish I knew what happened to them. I did manage to salvage a complete (1-66) series 1 reprint series from 1979. Thanks for the memories & keep up the good work.

I thought that Wacky Packages were the funniest thing I've seen on the market, next to Mad Magazine, which used to do something similar (and still do sometimes), and I guess also to the irritation of the companies being satirized. My favorites were "Nutlee's Quit", and "Kooloff's Snatch-A-Pak". My message to those corporate giants: Come on now! Companies have been satirized for over 50+ years, and will continue to be so in some sort of medium. Can't ya'll take a joke? :D

On a side note, before Wacky Packages, Topps also came out with "Wacky Record Labels", which were essentially parodies of popular phonograph record labels covering the top 40 hits of that time. For those born after 1982, phonograph records were the music medium long before the advent of CDs, nowadays referred to as vinyl.
